X Factor Alexandra’s secret heartache revealed: Her mother is critically ill

The mother of The X Factor semi-finalist Alexandra Burke has spoken for the first time about her battle against kidney disease.

Former soul singer Melissa Bell is critically ill as she desperately waits for a kidney and a pancreas donor.

Alexandra, 20, reached the semi-finals of the reality talent show last Saturday and is the favourite to win.

But the Islington-born starlet has secretly been worried sick about her mother’s deteriorating health.

Ms Bell, 44, former lead singer of Soul II Soul, said: ‘I don’t have any kidneys at all right now…I get really tired.’

But she said seeing her daughter’s success has kept her strong. ‘Alex doing so well is the perfect tonic for me.’

Ruth leaves the X Factor

From nowmagazine.co.uk

Ruth Lorenzo was voted off the X Factor last night in an amazing evening which saw both Miley CyrusBritney Spears appear as guest stars. and

The Spanish singer got the least number of public votes in Week 8, which featured no sing-off between the bottom two.

It was entirely down to the viewers to decide who stayed and who didn’t.

To kick of The X Factor results show, host Dermot O’Leary introduced ‘the one and only’ Britney, 26, who performed Womanizer ‘live’ – though she appeared to be miming – in the skimpiest of black satin shorts with a troupe of dancers.

Then Dermot announced who’d got through to the semi-final.

Daniel Reveals X Factor struggle

From digitalspy.co.uk

Axed X Factor star Daniel Evans has admitted that he felt inadequate compared to his rival contestants.

The 38-year-old pool cleaner struggled to win praise from the judges throughout his stint on the ITV1 talent show. He also found it difficult to be away from his young daughter while he lived in the X Factor house.

Evans eventually became the first act to be eliminated from Dannii Minogue’s ‘Over 25s’ category in the competition’s sixth week.

“There were times when I just wanted to go home and hold baby Ana, but Dannii picked me up,” Evans told Hello! magazine. “She told me I could phone her any time, day or night. When I was filled with self-doubt and in awe of the other contestants, she advised me to ignore everyone else and never watch their rehearsals.”

He added: “I loved working with Dannii. She was the only mentor who’d turn up for our routining sessions on Sunday mornings. I used to help the camera crew lift their equipment and she got to hear about it. She sent me a text saying: ‘You inspire me’. I’ll save that message forever.”

Sinitta recently suggested that Minogue was wrong to pick Evans for the show, claiming that he “couldn’t sing”.

Ruth believes she can win

‘X Factor’ contestant Ruth Lorenzo has said that she believes that she can now win the talent show.

The Spanish singer reportedly told This is Surrey: “Saturday went really well.”

“It was such a buzz and I think if you have positive thoughts and you keep them up it’s the best thing you can do.”

“It’s a very stressful situation to be in and having been in the bottom two twice I thought my energy was gone but I have had so much support from people and they want me to keep fighting and [they think] that I can do it.”

“In my mind there is no question – I think I can reach the final.”

“I have gone through all the auditions and live shows and been successful so I don’t see why I can’t win it.”

Britney’s crash diet

London, Nov 26 : Popstar Britney Spears is keen to shed weight before her ‘X Factor’ performance – and so has reportedly gone on a crash diet.

The ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ hitmaker is so desperate to look sexy for the X-rated performance that she’s reportedly gone on an unhealthy diet.

“She goes to bed hungry and is dieting so hard she’s suffering from insomnia, anxiety, flushes and shakes,” The Daily Star quoted a source, as saying.

“Her father and the people around her are trying to get her to eat more, but Britney is determined not to be criticized for having any extra bulk,” the source added.

Britney, who has already shed two stones, wants to get rid of 7 stones in a bid to outshine Chery Cole and Danni Minogue.

The 26-year-old popstar became paranoid about acquiring a toned body after appearing on stage with Madonna last month, saying clips she saw made her look “beefy”.

The mum-of-two tells Rolling Stone mag: “I feel like an old person. I go to bed at 9.30 and I don’t go out.”
